Luigi Bresciani
Luigi Bresciani graduated from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan with a degree in Economics and Management for Art, Culture, and Entertainment, and later completed a Master’s in Management and Service Design at the University of Milano-Bicocca. He pursued further education with a Master in Management and Technology at LUISS Guido Carli University. Luigi began his professional career in consulting, applying his expertise in digital transformation and project management across various sectors. His professional journey continued with roles in the photovoltaic industry and fintech, enhancing his skills in sustainable business practices.
In 2024, he entered the PhD program in Business for Society at the University of Milano-Bicocca. His research interests focus on the integration of Behavioral Sciences with digital transformation to advance Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainable mobility. He is particularly interested in how behavioral insights can be used to enhance CSR initiatives and promote sustainable business practices. Luigi is committed to bridging the gap between academic research and practical applications, aiming to contribute positively and innovatively to the field of business and society.

Lawrence Paul Cabrera
Lawrence joined the Milano-Bicocca Business for Society PhD program in 2024. Raised in Milan, he earned his BSc in Economics and Management and his MSc in Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the University of Milan. Lawrence also had the opportunity to explore the digitalization and sustainability dimensions of the Italian fashion and luxury industry through a project with the University of Florence and industry partners. His research interests focus on innovation, consumer behavior, and technology adoption, particularly in the realm of artificial intelligence and its ethical and social implications.
Sofia Cantù
Sofia Cantù holds a Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Entertainment, and Cultural Events from IULM University in Milan and a Master's Degree with honors in Strategic Management, with a major in Innovation and Sustainability, from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome.
She participated in the ENGAGE.EU program, taking a Data Science course offered by the University of Mannheim, and was selected to participate in the Expedition Week program at the University of Toulouse, focused on sustainability and climate change. Additionally, she attended the 2023 School for Public Policy, where she developed a project centered on the management and programming of energy communities within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
Her professional experience includes work at the consulting firm COM Metodi, where she was involved in risk assessment analysis related to employee health and safety for Credem and Intesa San Paolo, with ongoing projects in this field.
Her current research interests lie in the management and assessment of sustainability, technological sustainability, innovation, healthcare management, and health and safety.

Essiam Ebenezer
Ebenezer Essiam is a PhD student in the Business and Society program at the University of Milano-Bicocca, with a research focus on climate change and sustainability. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and Insurance, a Master’s degree in Economics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(KNUST), and an MSc in International Economics from the University of Milano-Bicocca. As part of his academic journey, he also spent a semester at the University of Freiburg, Germany as an Erasmus exchange student, broadening his exposure to international economic and sustainability frameworks.
His research interests lie at the intersection of macroeconomics, energy economics, climate change, and sustainability, with a particular emphasis on the economic implications of environmental policies. His current PhD project, funded by a PNRR co-financed scholarship in collaboration with ASSOFOND, examines the economic impact of decarbonization policies in the EU energy sector. The research aims to assess how regulatory measures influence industrial transformation, investment decisions, and long-term sustainability within the sector.
Through his work, Ebenezer seeks to contribute to the ongoing discourse on the effectiveness of decarbonization policies, providing insights that can support policy development and sustainable economic growth.

Emanuele Ghianda
Emanuele Ghianda graduated from the University of Milano-Bicocca with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Communication, and Global Markets, and a Master’s Degree in Global Management. During his master's program, he studied for five months at the Lisbon Accounting and Business School. He has won a PhD scholarship on the topic "Innovation, Digitalization, and Sustainability," with his research focusing on AI-CRM and its impact on customers, companies, and society. Emanuele collaborates with CRIET, inter-university research centre in local economy, where he is conducting research on marketing innovation. His research interests include marketing, consumer behavior, AI applications in business, and innovation.

Mariano Andres Imbert Rodriguez
Currently pursuing a PhD in Business for Society at the University of Milan Bicocca, Imbert's research interests lie at the intersection of space policy, circular economy, green-smart port and high-tech industry development. He holds a distinguished academic record, including an Aeronautical Engineering degree, a Master of Science in E-Government, an International Master of Public Administration from Tsinghua University, and a PhD in Manufacturing Engineering of Aeronautics and Astronautics from Beihang University. His professional experience spans 15 years, highlighted by his tenure as a Commercial Development Officer at the Venezuelan space agency ABAE (Bolivarian Agency for Space Activities). During this time, he played a pivotal role in Venezuela's major satellite projects development, including telecommunications and remote sensing satellites. He notably served as Program Manager for the VRSS-2 satellite (launched in 2017), a collaborative effort with China's CASC (China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation).

Marianna Carpinelli
Marianna Carpinelli graduated from the University of Pisa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Literature and a Master’s Degree in Italian Studies. After graduation, she completed a Master in Fashion and Luxury Management at RCS Academy in Milan.
She began her professional career as Social Media Editor for "Amica", an RCS Media Group's fashion and lifestyle magazine. She continued her education with the online course Communicating to Create Value. Integrated Marketing Communication at SDA Bocconi.
Since 2021 she has been working in the Brand & Communications team at Deloitte Italy, focusing on projects for the Italian Deloitte Foundation.
In 2023 she entered the PhD program in Business for Society at the University of Milano-Bicocca. Her research interests focus on Corporate Social Responsibility and impact evaluation of communication strategies.

Federico Malerba
Federico Carlo Maria Malerba has an educational background with a Bachelor in Economics and Management at University Bocconi and a Master in Economics and Enterprise Legislation at Cattolica University in Milan.
He has worked as a Startup Analyst in Cariplo Factory and has covered the position of Assistant Researcher in both Bocconi and Bicocca Universities.
He is now pursuing his Phd with a focus on alternative financing methods for innovative startups. His research interests are Sustainable Financial Innovation, Startups, Financing trajectories and Blockchain."

Sofia Nardandrea
Sofia Nardandrea joined the PhD program in Business for Society at the University of Milan-Bicocca in 2023. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Bergamo and a Master's Degree in Management and Service Design from the University of Milan-Bicocca. She is currently a junior researcher at the Milan Labor Market Office of the IRS - Institute for Social Research. She has actively participated in European and regional projects focused on gender equality, social inclusion, and employment. She worked as a research consultant for Comunità Montana Valle Imagna to investigate the tourist profiles of several Municipalities of Bergamo through the mixed-mode survey approach. Her current research interests focus on public policy evaluation related to education and the labor market, using counterfactual methods.

Sana Rehmat
Belonging from Pakistan, Sana Rehmat is a PhD student in Business for Society (B4S) at the University of Milano Bicocca, Italy. With over three years of experience as a Marketing Professional in Virginia, USA, she concurrently pursued her Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Management Sciences, specializing in Marketing. During her master’s research, Sana examined consumer behavior amidst technological advancements, focusing on the impact of gamification on customer experience and engagement in financial services applications. Driven by a passion for societal contribution, she also served as a Marketing Research Analyst in a Chicago-based non-profit organization. Sana's diverse research interests include Consumer Behavior, Branding, Gamification, AI, Metaverse, and Generative AI.

Matteo Bartolini
Matteo is an aerospace engineer with more than ten years of experience in launch vehicles. Matteo was in charge of Guidance, Navigation and Control and Flight Safety for the Launch Vehicle VEGA. After five years and four successful launches of the launch vehicle, he moved to New Zealand and joined Rocket Lab USA: he was in charge of Flight Safety and Guidance, Navigation and Control for the brand new Electron Launch Vehicle. Matteo is as well a launch operator: he spent days at the launch site, running preliminary tests and analyses before the green light for the launch. After four and half years and five launches, Matteo moved back to Italy, to pick the position of Head of Sales Engineering in D-Orbit: here is now in charge of boarding customers and designing missions for the Orbital Transfer Vehicle ION Satellite Carrier.

Ivan Burkov
Ivan Burkov has an educational background with BA in Political Science and World Politics, as well as an MA in Art Management. His background includes a focus on text mining techniques and consumer behavior research. Ivan has gained experience in conducting both qualitative and quantitative research through working with institutions such as Cartier, the Hermitage Museum, Faberge Museum, and others. Currently, he is involved in the research project “Evaluation and validation of innovative business models and services for a sustainable, safe and inclusive mobility” at the University of Milano — Bicocca.

Carloalberto Corica
Carloalberto Corica is a PhD student of the Business for Society programme at Milano-Bicocca. He holds a master degree in Government and Public policies and attended a second level master in Administration and Government of Territory at Luiss Guido Carli University. He spent six months at Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. He has led an executive course in Law and Economics in the European Union at the School of Government of Rome. His current research interests are in strategic management in the public sector, with a special focus on creation and execution phases of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Bakary Jammeh
I grew up in The Gambia. After completing a BSc at the University of The Gambia in Economics (Summa Cum Laude), I worked as a graduate teaching assistant in Economics. In 2019 I moved to study Economics at the University of Verona in Italy (MA, 2021) with a dissertation on investor sentiment and natural disasters. I also graduated with a second-level master's at the University of Napoli Federico II in Economics and Finance (MSc, 2022) with an overview study of the recent development of Algorithmic and High-Frequency Trading. My main research areas are Energy Economics, Climate Change, Finance, Macroeconomics, and technological Innovation. Research Project: “Medium-long term macroeconomic modeling to analyze the energy and economic system interactions.”

Angela Rizzo
Angela Rizzo is a PhD student of the Business for Society programme at Milano-Bicocca. She holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, and a master's degree in Tourism Economics from the University of Milan-Bicocca. In February 2022, she gained a 10-month fellowship at Bicocca University that allowed her to collaborate on the "Research for Digital and Sustainable Innovation" project. Her research interests include: sustainable innovation, open social innovation, collaborative governance and value co-creation, urban regeneration and local development.

Valentina Toscano
Valentina Toscano is a PhD student of the Business for Society programme at Milano-Bicocca. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Administration, Control and Finance and a Master's degree in Economics and Law, both from University of Pavia, a three-year Bachelor's degree and a two-year Master's degree in Social Sciences from IUSS Pavia - School of Advanced Studies and a first-level Master in Global Marketing, Communication & Made in Italy.
Her current research interests include: accounting, accountability, sustainability and resilience.
