The second year and third year are devoted to research and the preparation of the thesis. You will have to:

• study/research period at other Universities (minimum 6 months required)
• attend conferences (as a listener and as a speaker)
• attend laboratory trainings organized by the Doctoral School and by the PhD
• submit 1 research paper
• give two seminar presentations per year to illustrate one's own research output (at least one in UNIMIB)
• defend your thesis
